What we were hired to do?
gifts2Mobile is a revolutionary gift voucher technology system which allows consumers to purchase redeemable vouchers through the web site to the receivers phone! The gifts2mobile website provides the sender with a convenient, fun and user friendly way of sending a gift to someone special immediate.
We were approached by Mark from gifts2Mobile in 2008 to discuss this project, the desired functionality, brand and various other matters relating to having an online business. Mark was adamant he wants the site to be as fully automated as can be possible, not only would this mean less overheads for Mark, but also a more smooth, fluid and speedy purchase life cycle.
With those points ringing in our ears we began working on a design. After a few iterations we were able to put together some wire frames and personas as to the type of journey the ideal user for gifts2mobile.
We devised a plan of stages for the development work to be carried out, this allowed us time in between the stages to do some more user testing, as well as functional testing to ensure we were creating a smooth transition from 1 stage to another. Working in this manner where the user leads the development phase allows us to see flaws, issues and also positives from the design and make alterations accordingly. Upon completion of the development process, we were able to undertake a final round of user testing from a cross section of the market, from these findings, final changes were made to the site and copy, mainly focusing on the corporate message and language of the site.
