Webtrendz website design process
We have a web development and design process that we have used to successfully build lots of web sites, we are not doing anything new or imaginary. We simply try to follow logic. With any size project, having a good process is essential.
The stages that we follow to complete each project are:
- STAGE 1: Strategic planning and information architecture
- STAGE 2: Interface design and branding
- STAGE 3: Web development/production, Programming
- STAGE 4: Testing and launch
- STAGE 5: Marketing the site and implementing SEO
STAGE 1: Strategic planning and information architecture
Organising content and functionality into a structure that people are able to navigate intuitively doesn't happen by chance. Organisations must recognise the importance of information architecture or else they run the risk of creating great content and functionality that no one can ever find.
To this end we sit down with you and work out what you want to say to your users, how you say it and how you expect them to communicate with you.
STAGE 2: Interface design and branding
Designing an effective interface means evaluating the needs and requirements of the user, company brand, marketing, information, and usability. Ignoring any of these areas reflects in the way users respond to your site. This of course will have an impact on how much they spend if it's an eCommerce site.
We work with you to create an interface that allows for full user interaction with your brand leading the way. We shall engineer a strategy to promote your business to the user in the same way as you would if in person.
Throughout this stage we take the initial design and improve upon it until you are satisfied, once this is achieved we are ready for the next stage.
STAGE 3: Web development/production, Programming
We shall take note of the information gathered so far and process it into working wireframes and provide you with the ability to test them. Once the wireframes have been signed off we shall code those into the base code and finalise the site structure.
We shall also code and link all the product categories with their stock information, which will allow you as the administrator/moderator of the site to begin and add actual content. we shall walk you through this process at the testing phase.
STAGE 4: Testing and launch
At the testing phase we shall use different individuals in different parts of the country as well as further afield to test the site as users and provide feedback that we can pass on to you.
At this stage any bugs are reported and fixed as well as any final fixes that need to be placed, once sign-off has been received we are ready for launch!
